Why is there a slight delay when I switch from the analog input to one of the digital inputs?

When the Transparent One detects the music on the currently selected input has stopped, it scans the other inputs to see if there is another signal to start playing. In the case of the analog input, the electronics waits for 15 seconds of silence before searching any of the digital inputs to account for the inter-track quiet time so that we don't falsely switch away from the analog input before the start of the next track. This type of detection is not necessary for the digital inputs, as they indicate the completion of the music by dropping the digital connection altogether.
