Connect Your Flat Screen TV Directly To Vanatoo Powered Speakers

This configuration is only recommended if the TV has variable audio output so that you can use the TV remote control to adjust the volume. Check to make sure your flat screen TV has remote volume control on its analog out connection. Otherwise, you will need to use the volume control on the Vanatoo active speaker.
Note: Some flat screens have a TOSLINK® optical output. While this is a higher quality connection, the volume on these optical outputs cannot usually be remotely controlled.

  1. Depending on the TV’s analog output connection, you will need either a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm stereo cable or 3.5 mm to “Y” RCA cable. Consult the Owner’s Guide for the TV if you have difficulty determining the correct cable.
  2. Connect the cable to the ‘analog out’ connection on the flat screen TV.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the ‘ANALOG IN’ connection on the back of the T1 active speaker.
  4. Using the menu function on the flat screen, set the audio output to ‘variable’. This lets you use your TV remote to control the TV audio playing on the T1 speakers.
